At about 1:30 am on Tuesday, November 20, strange fire outbreak occurred within the premises of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, burning down the Admission Block of the school as well as the school bookshop,
making students resident in school hostels to run helter-skelter.
A student of the school, Chukwuebuka Okoye, who told Anaedooline about the development also informed that some vehicles packed within the areas, including a coaster bus with the name of the school inscribed on the body, were also burnt.
Firefighting equipment could not be accessed as at the time of the inferno, making students to seek refuge outside the school, even at a late hour.
The Public Relations Officer of the school, Obini Obini, was contacted for confirmation but he told our reporter to call back later.
The cause of the fire is sill unknown, however, the students have been said to be the no 1 suspects. It was reported that the institution changed their exam mode from CBT to pen and paper, which didn't go down well with the students.
